OUR GOAL as a nonprofit organization is to provide active aortic disease support and educational opportunities for patients, families, friends, care givers, health care professionals, and physicians. We connect with our communities and educate the at risk population and first responders about emergent presentation of aortic emergencies and treatment. We guide physicians and health care providers on the parameters for referring patients to an aortic center when aortic disease is found in a patient, or the first degree relative of a patient.
We strive to build a grassroots awareness of aortic aneurysm, aortic dissection, and aortic rupture. This includes the importance of getting yourself checked for aortic disease and its progression so that patients can avoid emergent aortic surgery. Emergent surgery carries a higher risk than elective repair of an aortic aneurysm.
We work to decrease patients and families anxiety about the diagnosis of aortic disease through education, conversations, and support.
